Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Legislative or government experience or someone with experience working in a position that requires frequent communication and collaboration with elected or government officials and staff, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
● Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
● Ability to oversee and direct staff.
● Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
Preferred qualifications:
● Passion for technology policy in the public interest;
● Strong analytical and research skills;
● Excellent editing skills;
● Ability to write clearly, persuasively, and quickly for a range of audiences;
● Excellent public speaking and communications skills;
● Ability to cultivate and nurture relationships with key audiences;
● Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively;
● Ability to work under time pressure and with tight timelines;
● Ability to work in a self-directed and entrepreneurial environment;
● Experience developing partnerships with a wide range of organizations and constituencies;
● Experience with and knowledge of regulatory and legislative efforts to advance net neutrality;
● Familiarity with U.S. telecommunications law, antitrust law and administrative law preferred.
The position starts immediately and is initially for six months. The position is based at Stanford, but CIS will consider remote options for exceptional candidates.

The expected pay range for this position is $47,500 to $69,500 per annum based on part-time status. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
