Qualifications:

1) Advanced degree in information science, library science, engineering, or a related discipline. College-level coursework or relevant work experience in an engineering discipline or related field preferred.
1) Two or more years of experience in an academic library, or similar expertise dealing with information mediation.
2) IT experience with a strong user orientation as demonstrated by work in areas such as needs assessment, product testing, release engineering, or user interface (UI) design.
3) Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively with users and colleagues .
4) Strong history of innovation in previous positions, demonstrating the ability to understand human information needs and address those through creative implementations of IT.
5) Demonstrated focus on user needs in previous positions.

* Librarian 3 level requires a minimum of 5 or more years of experience in supporting digital projects, developing research services, and implementing library technologies.


Physical Requirements*:

• Constantly sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Frequently twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasps lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
• Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, writing by hand, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other).
• Rarely use a telephone, operate hand controls.
• Must be able to push and maneuver a fully-loaded cart weighing up to 650 pounds that requires an initial push force up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• May work in confined spaces and at heights 4-10 feet; be exposed to dust and mold; work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
