DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 5 years’ professional experience in Higher Education or Biosciences-related sector.
- Familiarity with wellness theory and best practices.
- Counseling and/or coaching experience; preferably working with student populations.
- Understanding of the academic, personal, professional, and career development needs relevant to graduate-level, STEM trainees.
- In depth understanding of the ways in which traditional career services and workplaces have centered whiteness, heteronormativity, and privilege; creative, intentional ideas for disrupting these processes
- Experience administering and interpreting career assessments.
- Comfort and skill with developing compelling and practical career resources, workshops, and courses.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite; significant comfort with new technologies.
- Advanced customer service skills and the ability to develop partnerships within myriad populations.
- Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
- Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.
- Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex programs from inception to completion.
- Demonstrated commitment to the advancement of underrepresented populations and to decentering heteronormativity, whiteness, and privilege.
- Dedication to a growth mindset and holistic trainee development.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
