QUALIFICATIONS

Someone of national stature who is highly respected in the scholarly community and public policy arena.
A successful record as a visionary leader, institution builder, and talented and resourceful administrator who can attract, retain, and motivate high quality scholars and effectively manage Hoover’s diverse operations.
Commitment to the core values of the Hoover Institution and enthusiasm about its mission.
Demonstrated ability to work collegially and effectively with a wide array of constituencies, including senior leaders in the public and private sectors, faculty and university administrators across departments, and students.
Strong communication skills; excellent listening, analytical and interpretive skills as well as mature judgment, political acumen, and diplomacy.
Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred, plus exceptional leadership experience in an academic, government, business or public policy program or organization.
