To be successful in this position, you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.

Administrative or teaching experience at the secondary-level, a broad familiarity with extracurricular programs and the interplay between academic courses of study and the broader life of a school.

Advanced analysis and problem solving skills.

Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant computer systems/technology.

Advanced customer service skills.

Understanding of financial transactions.

Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

Strong project manager skills and ability to take on multiple tasks.

Ability to frequently sit, and consistently perform desk-based computer and other office-related tasks
Physical Requirements:
The expected pay range for this position is $65,000 - $104,000 per year. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Since the OHS is a school that attracts a significant number of gifted students, it is desirable that the Director of Student Life have experience with gifted education and the interests and needs of the motivated and talented population of students. Experience in student activities at the secondary or college level, high school counseling, and teaching experience are beneficial. Finally, it is highly desirable that the DSL have experience with the following: virtual classrooms, web conferencing, video conferencing, teaching with technology, such as video or multimedia, and the broader fields of computer-mediated instruction and distance learning.
