Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated history in creating innovative event planning strategies and collaborations.
  • Strong people skills needed to staff events and coordinate activities.
  • A collaborative leader who engages and empowers an organized team of event planning professionals engaging in a cohesive team environment.
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills.
  • Skilled at developing a staff of professionals and support personnel. Includes selection, motivation, and leadership of staff, as well as evaluation and development.
  • Excellent judgement and decisiveness, high integrity, diplomacy and tact.
  • Competency in budget management, cost accounting and vendor contract relationships.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to cultivate professional business partnerships.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Familiarity with Stanford systems is a plus; knowledge of database concepts and proficiency with, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), is required.
  • Experience with event management software (Certain.com or equivalent back-end system), strongly preferred.
  • Experience with on-line or installed CRM system (Salesforce.com or equivalent), strongly preferred.
  • May require some travel, and working night/weekends.
  • Promote Culture of safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety.
  • Comply with University policies and procedures, personnel policies found in the University’s Administrative Guide.
