Minimum Requirements (education and experience)
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other appropriate technical area, or combination of technical education, training, and experience.

Five or more years of extensive relevant professional and managerial experience in an environment with a variety of building types (administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, residential & dining facilities, auditoriums, etc.).
Strongly preferred:
- Master’s Degree and 10 years of experience in facilities management, planning, design, and construction, or combination of education and relevant experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation

Ability to plan, organize, direct the work of consultants and vendors

Ability to prioritize work by making informed judgments and to develop solutions for complex problems

Ability to utilize project management tools

Knowledge of CAD system, estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, quality control, specification writing, and space planning

Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility

Knowledge of technical, professional and business processes in the fields of architecture, design, and construction

Knowledge of building systems, building codes and safety requirements

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Ability to prioritize and multitask

Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to foster teamwork

Ability to create clear and effective graphic presentation documents.
