To be successful in this position, you will bring:

● Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience, preferably in an educational institution or nonprofit, or a combination of relevant experience and education.

● Demonstrated understanding and experience working with donors or the philanthropic process.

● Strong client service orientation and attention to detail.

● Excellent interpersonal skills, and professionalism to interact with a wide range of people at different levels of an organization.

● Proven ability to collaborate, build team spirit, and achieve results within a diverse population.

● Ability to work across groups, schools, and the university to achieve aims of the program.

● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

● Demonstrated experience leading project teams.

● Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities, with competing deadlines. This may include long-range strategic planning, major event oversight, endowment reporting, gift reviews and day-to-day operations.

● Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material.

● Experience fostering a collaborative work environment.

● Prior management experience of at least three years.

Preferred qualifications

● Strategic skills to craft and help implement donor relations plans.

● Ability to lead and motivate others and earn the respect of associates at all levels.

● Creative problem-solving with strong critical thinking and analytical skills.

● Proven ability to achieve results working through others – facilitating and enabling others to act will be as important as actions taken directly.

● Demonstrated experience engaging and motivating groups of diverse individuals, including strong team management skills.

● Ability to meet deadlines and function effectively in an environment demanding a high energy level, discretion, flexibility, and superior work.

● Experience working in an academic environment and engaging senior academic leaders at volunteer meetings and events is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

● Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, stand/walk, sit, use a telephone.

● Occasionally light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.

● Ability to obtain and maintain a Non-commercial Class Driver’s license.

The expected pay range for this position is $153,000 to $163,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
