To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Experience working productively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, and the ability to discern how marginalized populations may have differing needs.
- Understanding of privilege, power, marginalization, and oppression and how they manifest personally, interpersonally, structurally, and institutionally.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and anti-oppressive efforts through examples from personal and/or professional work.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated results in leveraging insights for decision-making.
- Self-motivation, action-orientation, ability to work independently and cross-functionally and make sound decisions.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively across a complex institution.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, sensitively written materials and presentations for a wide ranging audience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate constituencies, bringing diverse groups to consensus.
- Experience working in an independent school setting, in a higher education setting or with the 7-12 student population.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
- Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization
- Advance degree and program administration experience.
- Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
