To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in the areas of applied physiology, kinesiology, exercise science, human performance, sports management or related fields.
  • A master’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing a Division 1, or equivalent, football sports performance program, strongly preferred.
  • Post-education certifications from the College Strength and Conditioning Coaches association or the National Strength and Conditioning association.
  • Administrative experience in budget management, program development, facility management, and organizational design, preferably in a university setting.
  • Experience managing a staff of strength and conditioning coaches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people.
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skill set.

Leadership Ability:

  • Able to articulate and implement a vision for future changes in the operation of the football sports performance team.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to build effective relationships with clinicians (including physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists) coaches and student-athletes, as well as, members of the strength and conditioning and administrative staffs of Stanford Athletics.
  • Able to provide leadership in establishing a business plan and developing and achieving strategic goals and objectives.
