To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.
- Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills, including delegation and decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a collaborative team with diverse expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Relevant subject matter knowledge.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
- Knowledge of Stanford financial systems
- 5+ years of experience in finance and administration, accounting, or similar functions
- Experience producing high-quality written reports and quantitative analysis to inform executive decision-making
- Ability to perform complex finance functions and/or activities requiring advanced knowledge and application of internal policies, external regulations, precedents, and systems (i.e., BI reporting, spending projections, variance reporting, budgeting in BPS, year-end close, proposal budget development, post-award close-out)
- Functional knowledge of PeopleSoft webforms, labor schedules, labor distribution adjustments
- Knowledge of the gift processing transmittal process
- Demonstrated familiarity with sponsored research policies and the SeRA system
- Knowledge of appointment and hiring processes
- Knowledge of space oversight and health & safety policies and databases
