To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Advanced degree or a combination of education, training, and/or and experience. Typically five or more years of relevant experience in the area of specialization and five or more years relevant experience managing staff with proven success advancing team culture, performance, and development.
  • A combination of strategic thinking and appreciation for the rigors of operations
  • Experience with impact-driven organizations and fluency with social innovation frameworks
  • Enthusiasm for the potential of the GSB’s aspiring impact leaders and the incredible power of the Stanford community to accelerate their work
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong written and public speaking skills to effectively educate, inform, and inspire internal and external audiences
  • The interpersonal, networking, and diplomacy skills fostering trust and credibility as needed to maintain collaborative relationships with varied stakeholders and to manage and motivate volunteers
  • Comfort with technology and data management. Strong analytical skills to review and assess complex data; Experience building and maintaining spreadsheets
  • The ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, fast-paced role and organization
  • Demonstrated maturity, judgment and decision-making skills

 

In addition, our preferred requirements include:

  • General awareness of the social innovation / social entrepreneurship landscape, including social enterprises, impact investors, grant makers, nonprofit and governmental organizations 
  • A broad awareness of domestic and global social and environmental issues and an ability to quickly get up to speed on any specific issue
  • An understanding of the nonprofit and for-profit funding landscape for social entrepreneurs
  • An interest in policy as it affects opportunities for impact 
  • The ability to relate to the population of business school students 
  • The humility necessary to empower others, both faculty and students, and find meaning in nurturing and supporting emerging leaders and rising academic talent
  • An appreciation for the role of knowledge and ideas and an understanding of the dynamics of academia
  • Experience working in higher education
