Medical Center Development (MCD) seeks an energetic and collaborative Development Coordinator to support fundraising programs and activities for the Principal Gifts team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.  You will work with frontline fundraising staff, project managers, internal partner teams, and other university staff to assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with all university constituencies.  You will also exhibit patience, flexibility, sharp attention to detail, a high level of professionalism, a strong sense of priorities, and a superb level of tact and discretion.  

 

Your responsibilities will include

 

  • Provide project and administrative support.
  • Manage multiple complex calendars and heavy meeting scheduling, including logistics and agenda preparation.
  • Manage donor records and ensure all notes, strategies, and solicitations are accurately entered into the external relations database.
  • Retrieve information about prospects and donors, funds and use of gifts, update records, and generate simple reports using the university external relations database.
  • Track budget(s), conduct financial projections, and process reimbursements for department.  
  • Assist in the design, publication, and production of fundraising materials and in the planning and implementation of events and donor cultivation, as needed.
  • Build a network of relevant contacts and stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.

To be successful in this position, you will bring

 

  • Bachelor's degree and one-year relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office and Google suites.
  • Knowledge of database systems, such as Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, juggle tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

 

  • Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, sit, and use a telephone, stand/walk.
  • Occasionally light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.
