MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, including 5 years of experience managing staff and teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated strategic leadership, planning, and change management skills and experience, ideally in a university environment and/or with academic researchers
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy in persuading and influencing a wide variety of people at various levels to achieve results
- Excellent strategic planning skills
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to influence people, solve problems, negotiate, troubleshoot, think creatively, and resolve conflicts in a productive manner
- Advanced financial expertise in accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting, including in the use of business and management computer applications and databases
- Advanced expertise in grants and contract administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills and political acumen, including the ability to cultivate strong collaborative relationships with faculty members
- Attention to detail and accuracy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently sitting.
- Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
- Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat.
