Data Center Technician

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma.

5 years relevant experience in a production data center environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with minimum direction.
• Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
• Self-starter capable of working independently and as a member of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective, ongoing relationships with clients, staff and management.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high stress situations.
• Knowledge of Schneider Eco-Struxure IT (Data Center Operation, Data Center Expert) ServiceNow,  and can utilize technology based tools.
• Experience with ITIL a plus

Certifications and Licenses:

BICSI Installer 1 Technician Certification or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

• Will require physical work constantly standing on feet, regularly crawl, crouch, kneel and move up and down ladders. 
• Frequently sit, and perform desk work (email to clients, update work orders) grasp lightly/fine manipulation (must be able to use snips and crimping tool).
• Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone.
• Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds individually, 80 pounds assisted.
• Rarely write by hand

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work extended hours and weekend maintenance windows.
• Exposed to high voltage electricity , noise >80dB TWA, confined spaces, hot temperatures, heavy metals.
