CORE DUTIES:
● Design and create catchy and creative marketing campaigns for EH&S services, utilizing close working relationships with EH&S subunits to develop strategies and tactics for facilitating effective communication of services to internal and external stakeholders.
● Develop and execute written communications for internal or external audiences of moderate complexity, including presentations, reports, training, news outreach, web content, talking points, campus correspondence, and social media posts; acquire background material and data through research and interviews with appropriate parties; edit publications for style and substance.
○ Prepare content for internal or external newsletters. Understand email and digital content distribution. Assist in developing strategies for brand management, reputation management, and issues management.
● Plan and execute events to support marketing objectives.
● Interface with University social media and content management resources/groups.

OTHER DUTIES:
● In a team, acts as an internal advocate for digital community efforts, building support for social initiatives among internal stakeholders and driving digital best practices.
● Compile data, analyze and report on digital content and social media use.
● Participate in service design projects for EHS as a part of the internal service design team, including workshops, creative brainstorms, interaction design, and define interactions and services based on relevant business, technical, and design considerations.

All EH&S staff are required to comply with governmental regulations and University and departmental policies and procedures regarding health and safety and must observe and support good health and safety practices. Additionally, all staff are required to provide EH&S support as assigned during emergencies. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or by EH&S management.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience in marketing & communications, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Candidates with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a scientific, engineering, public health, or social sciences discipline preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing & communications.
• Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining production of work that is highly creative.
• Experience in market research and data analysis.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite Software, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Knowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, current, and future trends.
• Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal.
• Ability to work successfully both independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
• Understands how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels including digital and print materials.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to present information clearly and succinctly. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook in a Mac based environment.
• Experience in customer service, including strong interpersonal skills, such as empathy for and patience with those who need help learning skills with new media.
• Ability to translate strategic thinking into relevant and unique design paths and experiences.
• Possess strong self-motivation; proactive, high-energy, enthusiastic, “can do” work ethic; ability to handle potentially stressful or emergent situations.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
• Experience in writing for life sciences and public relations.
