The Career Management Center (CMC) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) seeks a Product/Program Manager to manage the systems used to provide career services to students and alumni. The Product/Program Manager will support and train the staff, employers, and students & alumni using the systems. The Product/Program Manager will specify requirements and/or design solutions to improve work-flow, production, efficiency and effectiveness of CMC business processes. For some projects the Product/Program Manager may serve as project lead. The successful candidate will be curious and knowledgeable about  career management products and services. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate a collaborative attitude, outstanding judgment, a sense of diplomacy, organizational savvy, empathy and a good sense of humor.

Your primary responsibilities include:
  • Manage the systems used by the CMC staff, GSB students & alumni, and employers
  • Improve the user experience by modifying operational processes and integrating technology 
  • Look for ways to meet unmet needs with operational changes and leveraging technology
  • Develop and maintains reporting dashboards, operational metrics, measurement criteria, and analysis
  • Create and update multi-media training materials for system end users (staff, students/alumni, and employers) with staff and user input
  • Execute product plan definition, and detailed rollout schedule, including collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct analysis and make recommendations regarding the direction of products used.
  • Actively participates in efforts to improve processes, programs and business across the department.
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants on specific programs
  • Maintain system security and user accounts.
  • Act as liaison with vendors of software and application products, especially with regard to problem diagnosis and resolution.
  •  Be flexible to completing any other additional assigned duties.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience with one or more operating systems.
  • Experience with managing products/programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management. 
  • Strong analytical skills to review and analyze complex data sets. 
  • Understanding of underlying technological needs and requirements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively. 
  • Familiarity with the principles and practice of system configuration management.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to explain applications and operating system fundamentals to others.
