MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with multiple types of operating systems or expert knowledge in one.
Experience working in AWS and Azure. (GCP a plus.)
Experience coordinating multi-system and computing environments in independent computing facilities.
Experience with managing an integrated computing environment.
Extensive experience in multiple programming languages for system development.
Experience with networked environments.
Experience with network storage solutions.
Experience with configuring and maintaining routers.
Demonstrated knowledge of security protocols.
Ability to manage shared resources and perform moderately complex tasks.
Ability to work well independently and as a team member.
Ability to train to others in applications and operating system fundamentals.
Experience with middleware and infrastructure.
Knowledge of various Cloud service models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Experience implementing a business continuation and disaster recovery plan.
Extensive hands-on experience supporting Windows systems in 24 x 7 enterprise environments.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work calmly and effectively in pressure situations and manage time effectively in a changing environment, strong conceptual and logical abilities and strong planning and project abilities.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex environments and ability to focus on customer requirements.
Ability to operate within a collaborative team framework both in the workgroup and across IT Services.
Ability to creatively apply a unique combination of skills & knowledge to the support and maintenance of the Stanford systems environment
Must be able to work as an independent, productive, responsible, self-motivated member of operational and project teams, often simultaneously.
Understanding and experience with information security in a distributed computing environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:

Demonstrated experience supporting a Windows Infrastructure, with strong expertise in Active Directory, Windows OSes, and email.
Demonstrated experience managing Windows-based systems and services at scale. Experience with maintaining Linux-based systems and services a plus.
Ability to automate common system administration and management tasks through Windows PowerShell.
Experience managing systems via Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and System Center Configuration Manager.
Understanding and ability to promptly diagnose and remedy cloud related problems and failures.
Comfort with public speaking is a plus. He or she should be able to give a detailed technical presentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
Frequently sitting.
Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 21>40 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposed to high voltage electricity, noise >80dB TWA, confined spaces, hot temperatures, heavy metals.

Redwood City.
