DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to:

  • Quickly develop strong relationships with many constituents and senior leaders and teams across the SCI, SoM, Dean’s Office, SHC, LPCH as well as with other key partners.
  • Establish an appropriate level of influence in order to progress initiatives.
  • Show independent judgment, thought leadership, flexibility and the ability to effectively function in a dynamic environment.
  • Plan and manage complex change initiatives 
  • Think strategically and creatively while pushing a variety of projects through to completion.
  • Connect the dots and define the big picture outcomes while identifying tangible ways to steer teams and leaders toward execution of the outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship building skills across all levels.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Extensive project management experience.
  • The ability to prioritize, manage deadlines and handle changing priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • The ability to make decisions quickly and effectively, balancing efficiency and risks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret scientific information into language that is understandable by and compelling to target audiences.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and the ability to develop/structure presentations with compelling narratives, graphics and visual design in support of executive presentations.
  • The ability to anticipate needs and to act proactively.
  • Impeccable integrity with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):  

Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate constituencies which could span multiple organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions using good business judgment and innovative and creative problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial, organizational and staff resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to cultivate professional and business partnerships.
  • Relevant subject matter expertise.
  • Strong project planning and management skills.
  • Experience in or knowledge of business process improvement methodology.
  • Ability to act independently and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks. 
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Frequently use a telephone. 
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.

COMPENSATION:

The expected pay range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
