Carpenter - Theater and Performance Studies

Minimum Qualification:

• Must be skilled in the use of the tools, materials, and equipment of the carpentry trade.
• Must be knowledgeable of applicable EH&S and OSHA rules, regulations and requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to operate woodworking machinery such as sanders, planers, lathes, power saws, and joiners, and specialized instruments such as a surveyor’s transit, etc.
• Ability to sketch.
• Working knowledge of relevant building codes.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

Certificates and Licenses Required

Must possess and maintain a valid California Class C Non-commercial Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.

• When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.

English Proficiency Requirements:

Must be able to understand and communicate in English with adequate proficiency to follow directions from supervisor, read and understand safety guidelines and directions to prevent accidents or injuries from occurring, and communicate effectively with customers (staff, visitors, students) by listening and speaking clearly to them.
