Qualifications:
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Graduation from high school.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a journeyman cabinet maker and finish carpenter; or an equivalent combination of both training and experience.
- Ability to perform at journey person level in the carpentry trade.
- Knowledge of building codes in his/her trade.
- Must be able to operate two-way radio for communication.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.
- Wears protective equipment and clothing as needed.
- Operates power tools utilizing safe work practices.
- Must be capable of learning and applying safe work practices, including but not limited to: hazardous waste management and handling, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Confined Space procedures, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and chemical safe practices.
- Possess the physical ability to perform various maintenance and moving tasks including, but not limited to working from step ladders, ability to lift heavy (50 lbs.) materials frequently each day, working overhead, kneeling, stooping, standing, crawling, or sitting for long periods of time, work in all types of weather.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities; respond to emergency calls at night and on weekends as assigned.
- Willing to work variable shifts at night or on weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Documented successful completion of cabinet/millworker apprenticeship program or similar formal training in cabinet-making.
- Documented experience in producing commercial custom casework working at a journey-level position.
The expected pay for this position is $45.89 (Step 1) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
