  • Masters or PhD degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. 
  • Experience in the analysis and interpretation of next generation sequencing (NGS) datasets (e.g., RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, small RNA-seq, etc.). 
  • Experience with programming languages: python and/or R.  
  • Broad knowledge of NGS analysis tools and methods; enough experience to quickly and judiciously evaluate new methods and tools. 
  • Knowledge in basic biological processes and genomics. 
  • Critical thinking capability with ability to follow through 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 
  • Excellent communication and data presentation skills. 

 

Desired

  • Masters or PhD or equivalent. Prior training in Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry or related field is desirable.
  • Optimally 2+ years of experience in a computation/bioinformatics field
  • Must be technically rigorous, highly organized, and have demonstrated excellence, innovation and productivity in research.
  • Able to work independently and function effectively as part of a team of scientists, students, and postdoctoral fellows.
