Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree with at least 5 years of relevant postdoctoral research experience in bioengineering, in academia and/or industry, is required. Further training beyond the postdoctoral training is desirable. A strong background in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, assay development and bioengineering is essential. The candidate should also have single-molecule biology experience, and preferably is already familiar with the complexities of the actin-myosin cytoskeletal system.
The successful candidate must be technically rigorous, possess exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail and have a track-record of excellence, innovation and productivity in research. Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills are imperative. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively and will have additional roles in the training of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
