To be successful in this role of Humanities & Sciences, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in career coaching, community development, student development, program planning and execution, group facilitation and/or engagement with one or more of the following areas: Arts and Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences.
- Demonstrated experience in working with diversity, equity, and inclusion with team development / management and with career coaching that supports students and alumni.
- Knowledge of public service careers as this role serves as a team liaison to EdCareers and the Haas Center for Public Service and social impact initiatives and partnerships on campus.
- Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field preferred.
To be successful in this role of PhD/Postdoc, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in career coaching, community development, student development, program planning and execution, group facilitation and/or engagement with PhD and Postdoctoral Scholars and their career needs across a range of schools and in a wide range of disciplines. This role also serves as a team liaison to EdCareers and BioSciCareers.
- Demonstrated experience in working with diversity, equity, and inclusion with team development / management and with career coaching that supports students and alumni.
- Understanding of academic job search and non-academic job search.
- Curriculum development and teaching/training background specifically geared towards PhD and Postdoc audiences as well as creating events/programs related to PhD Pathways is especially helpful. Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field preferred.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
- Ability to translate experience with career coaching into managing career coaches and related programs and services.
- Ability to integrate career coaching into foundational perspectives such as student development theory and practice, design thinking, and practices such as career readiness competencies.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment and serve constituents from a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, industries, and objectives.
- Proven record in leading and developing cohesive teams, managing performance and productivity, strategic planning, addressing DEI and intercultural competence, and contributing to organizational leadership.
- Experience with engaging in and managing communication and conversations that include diverse viewpoints and divergent opinions.
- Demonstrated experience in employment trends and career development, relationship development, program planning and execution, group facilitation and engagement, and advising campus partners.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics.
- Direct experience with using career-focused research, career interests, career assessments, print, and web resources as a fully developed basis for career coaching.
- Knowledge of trends in career education, internships, employment, technology, and industry networks.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents and using a range of communications including presentations to all levels of management.
- Experience with using technology, social media, and digital communications.
- Experience using Handshake and similar digital career engagement platforms.
