Education & Experience (Required)

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required)

  • Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to review and analyze complex information.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
  • Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management.

  • Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in program coordination, student services or related field
  • Detailed knowledge of the range of challenges that graduate students encounter; strong ability to identify needs and to help provide for those needs
  • Expertise in issues of diversity in higher education and knowledge of theory and practice related to achieving inclusion
  • Experience with program development
  • Experience with managing complex budgets
  • Ability to balance the management of long-term, complex projects with day-to-day program activities and communications
  • Experience serving as a mentor in an educational setting
  • Ability to produce effective digital communications
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills
  • Ability to oversee and direct staff
  • Experience (formal or informal) mentoring and/or advising students in a university environment
  • Discretion in handling sensitive and/or confidential student and university information
  • Advanced facility with standard office software (or ability to learn); including communications and research software (e.g, Word, Excel, Tableau, Qualtrics, MailChimp, Caspio, SlideRoom, or similar platforms)

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
