Associate Director, Faculty and Lecturer Programs

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

●        Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience

●        Two or more years of teaching experience as a primary instructor, that is, someone responsible for the design and delivery of courses (in any context)

●        Ability to understand the specific context and demands of a research university setting

●        Facility with current technologies that support teaching and learning

●        Demonstrated experience and ability to collaborate constructively with campus stakeholders, including undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, lecturers, faculty, and staff

●        Ability to work independently and in teams and take the initiative, especially in new ventures or with pilot projects

●        Strong writing and oral communication skills

●        Excellent analytical and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, especially complex projects with multiple due dates

●        Effective collaboration skills including openness to engage in iterative and collaborative improvement of work products.

●        Fluency in terminology, research, and recommendations around inclusive and equitable pedagogy, interest in learning more, and exhibition of inclusive and equitable behaviors towards campus colleagues.

●        Attention to detail and accuracy.

●        Proactive approach to communication and to continuous improvement of individual and collaborative processes and products.

●        Physical requirements, including frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, and on-campus mobility, self-propelled or assisted.

●        Working Conditions: May work extended hours during peak business cycles.

●        Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.)

●        Degree, or experience, in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) fields

●        Documented success applying relevant research and prior teaching experience to assess needs and develop teaching and learning recommendations for instructors at a research university like Stanford.

●        Experience with commonly used learning technologies (such as the videoconferencing, polling software, live inking and annotation, and learning management systems) 

●        1-3 years experience working in the field of educational, academic, or teaching development

●        Experience managing a budget and developing financial plans

The expected pay range for this position is $76,000 - $139,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
