Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of related experience required. Master’s degree preferred. Preference to prior experience with Division I regulations on an institutional campus. Commitment to and knowledge of NCAA rules is required. Experience with NCAA rules compliance at Division I level preferred.

NCAA and Administrative Guide Policy:

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for protecting the reputation of Stanford University through compliance with all relevant rules. This position is responsible for insuring that her/his involvement with Athletic Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and Pacific-12 rules and regulations.

Candidate must:
  • have outstanding judgment, high ethical standards, and the capacity to deal effectively with a widely varied array of issues.
  • have a highly collegial approach to problem-solving and a willingness to engage in clear and transparent dialogue about compliance and non-compliance issues. Must be dedicated to finding solutions consistent with institutional and departmental mission.
  • have demonstrated managerial and leadership acumen, founded upon a deep respect for persons at all levels in the organization.
  • have a demonstrated ability to manage staff through strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • be able to perform effectively, calmly and collegially under pressure.
  • have an exceptional ability to communicate and calibrate risk with clarity and directness.
  • be able to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • have demonstrated integrity and wisdom with the ability to inspire confidence and trust.
  • have a good sense of humor and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
