Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, influential, and works effectively with leaders and staff at all levels across all groups.
  • Significant experience working productively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, and the ability to discern how marginalized populations may have differing needs.
  • Proven success in building, leading, and maintaining a DEIB strategy and programs. 
  • 10+ years of prior in-depth relevant professional experience with at least 5 years of experience as a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner in a complex organization preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of strategic plans and how to intersect DEIB efforts into those plans.
  • Experience with and ability to establish credibility across a large, complex, and decentralized organization leading work in diversity and inclusion is strongly preferred.
  • An understanding of the Cultural Proficiency Model is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Ability to be equity-minded and collaborate with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Demonstrated experience promoting diversity and inclusion in higher education or in similarly complex corporate or large non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity issues in general and within higher education.
  • Effective public speaking skills with gravitas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate difficult dialogues, effectively listen to all points of view, and ability to build consensus on initiatives and issues.
  • Strong project management skills reflecting an ability to manage shifting priorities and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to delegate, influence, and complete work through others.
  • Forward thinker with ability to anticipate and proactively respond to internal and external needs.
