To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Successful leadership experience managing and providing research services in a large complex environment, preferably in academia.
- Advanced degree in a discipline that requires direct engagement and participation in computational research or data analysis, including demonstrated expertise in computational research tools (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, ArcGIS, QGIS, among others).
- Proven background in support of academic data research through providing services, managing content, or creating data ecosystems.
- Expertise in developing data projects and initiatives at scale, including detailed understanding of the requirements for making data sets suitable for local use.
- Track record in project development from inception to launch and continuous development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff and to build cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrably excellent communications skills, (listening, verbal, written, and presentation);
- Ability to collaborate with and manage diverse stakeholders across a major research organization on strategic priorities;
- Experience with libraries or other service organizations is highly desired.
- Demonstrated successful experience developing and maintaining complex budgets.
- Commitment to the principles and activation of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Stanford community.
