Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Knowledge of management and maintenance of greens, fairways and roughs to modern practices and standards.
- Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in golf course construction and maintenance work.
- Skill in supervising, training, monitoring, evaluating and motivating personnel in a positive manner.
- Daily follow up of tasks completed on a daily basis to ensure completion to set standards.
- Eye for details and ability to problem solve challenges on the fly.
- Interpersonal skill to resolve conflict and work with supervisors, faculty, staff, officials, employees, members and the general public.
- Knowledge of safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products.
- Use of Task Tracker software to post job assignments and track job progress. Updating completed tasks at the end of the day to track working progress.
- Assist Superintendent with creating and scheduling short term and long term goals that continue the growth and improvements to the playing surfaces
- Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules and methods of play.
- Ability to anticipate personnel, equipment, and material requirements related to golf course maintenance
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- A combination of education, training and experience performing responsibilities similar to those listed above
- Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) for applying chemicals and fertilizers- or ability to obtain in 6 months
The expected pay range for this position is $88,000-110,000 per annum.
