MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in alumni relations in a higher education setting.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the university professionally both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.
  • Sound judgment, the ability to analyze problems quickly and accurately, and the ability to develop practical and effective solutions to solve a variety of problems.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems. Salesforce, Marketo, PostGrads, and html experience a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet expected deadlines and schedules.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid California Non-commercial Class Driver's License.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends.
  • May work outdoors.
  • Some local or domestic travel.
  • A remote or hybrid worker arrangement may be considered for candidates with the appropriate background and experience, with a preference for candidates based in the Bay Area, Southern California, or the New York or Washington, DC metropolitan areas.

  • When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations.
  • Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety; communicates safety concerns; uses and promotes safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.
