Qualifications
 
Education & Experience
 
Bachelor's degree and two or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Preferred qualifications: advanced degree, program administration experience, research experience, engineering background.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of diversity and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting diverse students, including issues of disparities in educational background, family education history, class, race, gender, age, disability, sexuality, and immigration status. Cultural sensitivity and humility across a spectrum of diversity broadly defined.
  • Familiarity with literature and studies related to the issues around diversity and inclusion in engineering programs, education, and in the technology industry; interest in contributing to the on-going discussion of best practices.
  • Familiarity with processing and analyses of quantitative information, such as student financial aid policies, different kinds of internal and external financial aid, and the issues related to using combinations of aid sources.
  • Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.
Physical Requirements*
 
    Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
 
    Occasionally use a telephone, write by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
 
    Rarely sort/file paperwork.
 
    Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
 
    On-campus mobility.

Working Conditions
 
    Occasionally work extended hours, evenings or weekends.
 
    Local travel as well as overnight travel to conferences, academic institutions, or other partner organizations.

    Subject to and expected to comply with all applicable University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, the personnel policies and other policies found in the University's Administrative Guide, http://adminguide.stanford.edu.
 
    Understand and communicate program goals and procedures within the context of prevailing legal standards and consistent with university policies and federal policies, for example, FERPA and Title IX.
