To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant
experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Paralegal skills and experience (strongly preferred
and highly desired).
- Ability to develop effective skills in corporate
and/or foundation prospect identification, relationship building, and
solicitation.
- Experience mentoring and working with volunteers,
faculty, and staff.
- Ability
to work within a complex environment with competing university and funder
agendas.
- Ability
to prepare select agreements for management approval; conduct initial
review and issue spotting of select agreements from funders.
- Ability
to resolve problems arising in the course of the project; consult with
departmental administrators, faculty and staff.
- Desire
to collaborate with allied campus offices to deliver excellent services to
faculty and research administration community.
- Excellent
written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to
detail and the ability to articulate a compelling case for philanthropic
support programs.
- Ability
to translate complex concepts into compelling development proposals and
agreements.
- Ability
to work effectively with faculty, top executives, and community leaders.
- Ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion.
- Advanced
ability with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe PDF.
- Valid California Non-commercial Class C
Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently
perform desk-based computer tasks, sit, and use a telephone, stand/walk.
- Occasionally
light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10
pounds, writing by hand.
