- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Previous experience in program coordination, student services or related field
- Professional/working experience in an academic environment/university setting
- Science background/writing experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Good judgment and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to clearly and effectively communicate with internal and external audiences, students, staff and faculty.
- Ability to bring a student-centered approach to the work and be sensitive to issues faced by a diverse student population.
- Ability to analyze the needs of individual students and groups of students, and to be or become knowledgeable about the range of University resources available to students.
- Prior experience with and ability to plan and organize events ranging from small to large scale. Ideally concerning diversity, cultural competence or related topics.
- Ability to be flexible, deal with ambiguity and change, and work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete numerous projects efficiently, effectively and on deadline.
- Advanced analysis and problem solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
- Understanding of financial transactions.
- Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
