DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in program coordination, student services or related field
  • Professional/working experience in an academic environment/university setting
  • Science background/writing experience

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
  • Good judgment and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to clearly and effectively communicate with internal and external audiences, students, staff and faculty.
  • Ability to bring a student-centered approach to the work and be sensitive to issues faced by a diverse student population.
  • Ability to analyze the needs of individual students and groups of students, and to be or become knowledgeable about the range of University resources available to students. 
  • Prior experience with and ability to plan and organize events ranging from small to large scale. Ideally concerning diversity, cultural competence or related topics.
  • Ability to be flexible, deal with ambiguity and change, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete numerous projects efficiently, effectively and on deadline. 
  • Advanced analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
  • Understanding of financial transactions.
  • Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
