DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree in a relevant field
Previous experience in program coordination, student services or related field
Professional/working experience in an academic environment/university setting
Science background/writing experience

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

Good judgment and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to clearly and effectively communicate with internal and external audiences, students, staff and faculty.
Ability to bring a student-centered approach to the work and be sensitive to issues faced by a diverse student population.
Ability to analyze the needs of individual students and groups of students, and to be or become knowledgeable about the range of University resources available to students.
Prior experience with and ability to plan and organize events ranging from small to large scale. Ideally concerning diversity, cultural competence or related topics.
Ability to be flexible, deal with ambiguity and change, and work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to prioritize tasks and complete numerous projects efficiently, effectively and on deadline.
Advanced analysis and problem solving skills.
Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced customer service skills.
Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
Understanding of financial transactions.
Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
