Education & Experience (Required): 

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required): 

  • Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.
  • Advanced analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Relevant computer systems/technology experience.
  • Understanding of financial transactions.
  • Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional work experience within university student advising, teaching, student activities, or alum services
  • Advanced degree; all fields considered though Education, Student Affairs, Psychology, Sociology, Business, and STEM may be most relevant
  • Experience in developing innovative career and/or leadership workshops/curriculum beyond applications & job search, including: networking, leadership styles, giving/receiving feedback, defining/using Gallup Strengths, career options
  • Experience with student coaching and/or student group advising
  • Understanding of, and experience with, principles of effective mentoring and coaching; or fundamentals of mentorship needs and initiatives
  • Experience with partnership building and resource mobilization; or sustaining collaborative partnerships
  • Demonstrated commitment to decentering heteronormativity, whiteness, and privilege in Career Services and Higher Education overall.
  • Knowledge of the career needs of STEM trainees
  • Significant comfort with new technologies

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

  • Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety; communicates safety concerns; uses and promotes safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States.  Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $65,000 to $95,600 per annum.

 

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
