MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Four to six years of supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Significant experience managing a high-performing annual fund.
- Proven record of accomplishment that demonstrates initiative, creativity, managerial and interpersonal skills. Well-developed leadership abilities and a willingness to take risks and solve problems creatively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, organize, motivate, and delegate to others, including volunteers. Proven success in managing, mentoring and retaining a professional fundraising staff. Ability to address performance issues as they arise.
- Ability to articulate a compelling case for discretionary annual giving in a complex internal and external fundraising environment.
- Strong experience in analyzing and interpreting data to drive strategies and the ability to conceptualize, develop, implement and assess strategic development activities.
- The ability to build effective long-term relationships both internally and externally and the ability to articulate and advocate for institutional goals clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to collaborate, build team spirit, and achieve results within a diverse population that may possess competing interests, opinions, and/or expectations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid California Non-commercial Class Driver's License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Occasionally stand/walk, light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks; frequently sitting; frequently use a telephone.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.
