Qualifications
This position is open to all qualified U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens without regard to race, age, gender, religion, color, national origin, or physical disability. The appointment will begin in spring or summer 2022.
Required qualifications include:
- Doctorate in education (or closely related social science field)
- Deep understanding of the research base, history, and potential of issues related to equity, systemic oppression, and social justice in schools
- Demonstrated knowledge of in-service teacher education
- A self-starter with initiative and strong time-management skills
- Strong organization and workflow management skills, including ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills (working with other project staff, faculty, schools leaders, classroom teachers)
- Ability to travel domestically as needed
- Already authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship needed)
- Can pass background and tuberculous checks to be present in schools
Desired qualifications include:
- Experience leading teams
- Experience teaching others to grapple with difficult ideas related to race, oppression, and justice
- Experience as a classroom teacher
- Experience as a teacher educator conducting professional development in K-12 educational settings and/or teaching classes for teacher candidates
- Experience securing funding by writing grants, negotiating fee-for-service contracts, or talking to donors
